School starts tomorrow so I decided to get the kids up at 645a.
Which is the time they will be getting up to catch the bus at 73oa.
Needless to say one of the three was not a happy camper.
After I threw a few bagels at them we headed out to feed the animals
which was quick, since the cows left on Friday night to run with a bull
up at a friend of ours house.
Then we hit the garden. It was quite wet out this am and chilly too.
Walking through the corn we all got soaked, but
managed to pick a heaping wheelbarrow full.
With everyone helping the whole corn process went fast.

Chyann found this worm thing in the cow pen on Saturday.
Sure is big and juicy looking.
I made a batch of salsa that was delicious!
Unfortunately I didn't have enough tomato's ready to make another batch.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have enough to make more.
We got all the taters harvested also.
Cal was hoping we'd grow enough with the 90 hills to last through the winter,
but that's not going to happen. Total we got four wheelbarrows full and
that's just not enough for our tater eating family.
This guy was hanging out by our Pheasant pen this morning.
I wonder if ours called it in?

Gee, I wonder what kid didn't like getting up? Mine will have to be on the bus at 7:00, they are not happy about that.
That bug is disgusting!
I believe it's a tomato worm. I plant dill around my tomatoes to repel them. (they eat the dill instead of the tomato). Here, school only starts on Sept 2 so I got ds all panicked to start school tomorrow! Ooops. He was happy to know that it was only in 2 days not one!
That is one freaking big bug! I would freak if I was picking tomatos and found one of them. On another note, it seems like 4 wheelbarrows full of potatos would last a LONG time. Although, I'm sure with 3 kids and a husband, you all probably do go through a lot. As my son (and Bubba Gump) says, you can fry them, mash them, boil them, roast them, bake them, and even make chips.
That looks like a bug that would leave alot of gunk behind if you squashed it.
So the kids were not happy about the early. Too bad. Crack the whip and pull up them Mommy pants!
Maybe you don't need to eat potatos with every meal?
The kids look cold in that picture. We had 47 degrees when I woke up around 7:30 am today. I acutally slept in late this morning. We had lots of fog too.
That makes me nervous to see your kitty cat sitting on the rim of your swimming pool.
We use to have those big green worms in our garden too. They actually make me sick to my stomach when I see them, and then to have to pick them off the garden plants....yucky pooh.
