Animal Friday and other blither blather

Dang time is flying!
Can you believe it's already August?
School is starting early here on the 27th. I can't ever remember them starting this early. I wonder if its because they had so many snow days last year and they had to go later into June, extended the school day from getting out at 310p to 320p and even canceled some previously planned holidays to make up all the days.
Was kinda funny when we first started having the bad weather and school was cancelled Caden was stoked and towards the end he was so bummed out that another day was canceled.

I want to say in total they missed about 15 school days due to bad weather from February through April. Was absolutely crazy.

My gardens are really coming along.
I've got tons of hot and sweet peppers ready right now.
Think I will get a batch of those canned up today so they don't go to waste since having enough tomatoes to make salsa with is not happening in the next week or so.

I've only had one ripe tomato so far and it was amazingly delicious!
Nothing better than that first tomato sandwich of the season!

The tomato plants are all healthy and have a lot of fruit set. With any luck I'll have a good harvest this year.
We've had quite a few storms come through the area in the last two weeks.
In the space of 24 hours we got a little over 4" of rain.

Did I tell you we found a piano for Caden?
Heck of a deal too!
Saw it listed on a local market place listing and watched it drop in price for several weeks until it was finally in my cheap price range.
It was even located about five miles from us too, so that made it an even better deal!
The folks we bought it from were moving and had closed on their house so needed it gone ASAP!

The lady was telling me that you just can't sell pianos anymore. One of her friends in the cities actually had a baby grand piano that she purchased for thousands of dollars and when it came time for her to move she attempted selling it, dropping the price on a weekly basis until it came to a week before she had to move and was having a garage sale.
Apparently she told folks who were at her garage sale that whoever told her the best story about why they wanted the piano she was give it to them AND pay to have it hauled to their home lol
Imagine that!

Caden had his first lesson yesterday and he is really excited to play.
Crunchy has made a few attempts at playing the piano too!

And the curious Gizmo. He waits until the coast is clear then pounces on the keys!

Have a great weekend!
later :)

My grandma wanted a baby grand piano so bad. My grandpa wouldn't drop the money for it so he bought her a cheapo thing and she hated it so that she refused to play it. She actually was a concert Pianist when at the University of Michigan and even produced a record.
